ABOUT THE GAMES
Visual Touch Therapy features games that are designed around range-of-motion exercises. It is generally considered to be beneficial to start a therapy program with large gestures, and as your strength and mobility improve you work your way down to smaller and more precise movements.
Crucial to the therapy process is the ability to monitor progress. The Progress Dashboard tracks the amount of time spent exercising, number of achievements and bonuses made, and progress made through each game level. It also lets you view your progress by date, so you can make sure that you’re in compliance with your therapy regimen.
It is important to maintain your body’s center alignment as you exercise. The Posture Tracker helps to ensure “quality of movement” and maintain your “sense of center”, so that your movements are in harmony with the alignment of your body. Try to keep an eye on the posture tracker as you play to make sure you’re not slumping or twisting to one side as you progress through the games.
Most games require a “Leap Motion” controller to fully track all the user’s data. The Leap Motion is an input device (like a mouse) that uses your computer’s USB port to perform high-fidelity tracking of the fingers and hand. It is available at electronics retailers such as Best Buy or you can find out more information and purchase it here: https://www.leapmotion.com/
You get a username and password to log in to your Visual Touch Therapy App, with full access to the Visual Touch Therapy Dashboard, games, and the ability to send updates and progress to your physical therapist by email, and to your friends by facebook.
